Dental lasers are safe, effective, quiet and painless. We use two different types of lasers during dental treatment.
The first is a low-powered laser called DIAGNOdent. This laser is used to detect tiny pits and fissures within tooth enamel that can become cavities or that are in the early stages of tooth decay. These areas are often missed or not visible on a dental x-ray. The DIAGNOdent assists in early detection of decay, which ultimately preserves tooth structure.
The second laser is very useful for dental surgery. With laser surgery there is a reduced need for local anesthesia, bleeding is minimized and swelling is controlled. The laser can also be used to treat cold sores with no anesthesia, providing immediate relief.
