Why is a dentist doing Botox and Dermal Fillers?

This is a very common question and we love to answer it. Dr. Michael Shipp should be your first choice when you are considering Botox and Dermal Fillers and here are a few reasons why:

                    2) Dentists are experts at giving injections. Bristol Heights Dental uses the #1 rated                 most comfortable and painless syringes

                    3) Dentists focus on appearance, symmetry and cosmetics every day.                             Dr.Shipp loves putting on the final touches of a smile makover with a few facial                 enhancments. The results are amazing!

                    4) Dr. Michael Shipp has received advanced training in facial esthetics and is an                             accreditted member of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics known as the AAFE. What is the difference between Botox and Dermal Fillers?

Botox is used to treat mild to moderate lines in the forehead, vertical lines between the eyes, sides of the eyes called Crow's  feet and "water bottle lines" around the lips. Dr. Shipp also uses Botox for TMJ problems, teeth grinding, migraines, tension  headaches and head/neck pain. Botox treatments relax the muscles under the skin that are causing the wrinkles and lines to  form. Botox takes 7-10 days to take affect and lasts for 3 months.

Dermal Fillers are used to treat moderate to severe lines and wrinkles where volume loss has occured. As we age, we lose  collagen which causes this volume loss. Most dermal fillers like Juverderm, are made of hylaronic acid which is naturally found in our bodies especially our eyes and joints. Dr. Shipp has expert training in placing dermal filler to enahnce your lips, the  nasiolabial folds which are the lines that look like parentheses on the sides of our nose and lips. Fillers last anywere from 6-18 months in these areas. We also do nonsurgical cheek  implants and face lifts with Voluma dermal filler which lasts up to 24 months. Call today to set up a consultation with Dr. Shipp to discuss your goals the areas you would like to improve.
